Description
Support dietitians in delivering nutrition services and foodservice operations. Assist patients with menu selections, conduct basic nutrition screenings, assemble and deliver diet-appropriate meals, and help with education and documentation under established guidelines and supervision.
  • • Assist patients in selecting menus that meet diet orders and preferences.
  • • Assemble, portion, and deliver meals per recipes, production sheets, and safety standards.
  • • Verify tray accuracy and diet compliance and correct errors before delivery.
  • • Collect dietary histories and perform basic nutrition screenings per protocol.
  • • Monitor and record intake and weights and report changes and dietary issues to the dietitian.
  • • Document nutrition data and diet orders in electronic health records.
  • • Support dietitians in implementing menus and diet plans based on established guidelines.
  • • Review menus and recipes for nutrient content and standardization under supervision.
  • • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely, high-quality food service.
  • • Provide patients with basic nutrition education materials and reinforce key messages.
  • • Refer patients to dietitians or other services to ensure continuity of care.
  • • Track portions, inventory, and waste and help with cost-control procedures.
  • • Participate in orientation and in-service training and follow food safety and sanitation policies.
