Description
Support nutrition and food service operations under the supervision of a dietitian by assembling and delivering meals, assisting with menu selections, and documenting intake. Ensure prescribed diets are followed, maintain food safety and sanitation, and provide basic clerical support for nutrition services.
  • • Assemble, portion, and tray meals according to diet orders and recipes.
  • • Deliver, set up, and collect patient or resident meal trays on schedule.
  • • Assist patients with menu selections based on diet restrictions and preferences.
  • • Verify and update diet orders, allergies, and preferences per policy.
  • • Measure, record, and report food and fluid intake and tolerance.
  • • Prepare simple foods, beverages, and modified textures using standardized recipes.
  • • Monitor food temperatures and follow HACCP and infection control procedures.
  • • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment; operate dishwashing equipment.
  • • Stock, rotate, and label food and supplies; check expiration dates.
  • • Communicate diet-related issues and patient concerns to the dietitian or supervisor.
  • • Prepare and deliver nourishments and oral nutrition supplements per guidelines.
  • • Assist with basic nutrition screenings or diet histories under supervision.
  • • Participate in care huddles or rounds as requested to support continuity of care.
