Description
Support nutrition care and foodservice operations as a Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR), working under a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Implement RDN-directed care plans, educate clients, manage menus and recipes, and help ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- • Prepare large-volume meals using standardized recipes and calculate group portions.
- • Analyze menus and recipes; standardize and test new products for quality and nutrition.
- • Supervise food production and service; enforce HACCP, sanitation, and safety standards.
- • Plan menus and therapeutic diets per guidelines and RDN-approved care plans.
- • Track food and beverage costs; assist with purchasing, inventory, and cost control.
- • Develop job duties and work schedules for foodservice staff.
- • Deliver orientation and in-service training on nutrition, allergens, and food safety.
- • Assist RDNs with data collection, nutrient analysis, and foodservice system evaluations.
- • Provide individual and group nutrition education within DTR scope of practice.
- • Refer clients to RDNs and other providers to ensure continuity of care.
- • Conduct nutrition screenings and obtain dietary histories under RDN supervision.
- • Monitor and document intake, weight, and tolerance; report progress and issues to the RDN.
- • Attend interdisciplinary care meetings and chart in the EHR per policy and regulations.
