Description
Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of educational programs and interpretive resources that connect diverse audiences with the institution's collections. Collaborate across departments to integrate learning goals into exhibitions and outreach, and may conduct training, research, and public service.
  • • Develop and maintain education program records, lesson plans, schedules, and evaluation data in institutional databases.
  • • Provide interpretive guidance and learning resources drawn from the collections to educators, docents, and the public.
  • • Inspect learning spaces and galleries to ensure accessibility, safety, AV readiness, and appropriate environmental conditions for teaching.
  • • Recruit, train, and supervise educators, teaching artists, docents, volunteers, and interns.
  • • Coordinate access to objects and digital assets for programs; set handling and use guidelines in line with collections policies.
  • • Plan and conduct audience, curriculum, and interpretive research to inform program design.
  • • Collaborate with leadership to set education goals, policies, budgets, and assessment plans.
  • • Represent the institution at schools, community events, and conferences to promote programs and build partnerships.
  • • Schedule and deliver public programs, field trips, and teacher workshops; manage logistics, registrations, and fees.
  • • Write and review grants, reports, educational content, and promotional materials.
  • • Research objects and histories to ensure accurate, inclusive interpretation and appropriate educational use.
  • • Manage risk, permissions, and insurance needs for hands-on materials, replicas, and offsite programs.
  • • Specify, produce, or procure educational replicas, kits, and other teaching resources.
  • • Collaborate on exhibitions to integrate learning objectives; develop labels, interactives, and digital learning tools.
  • • Design and conduct tours, workshops, and curriculum-aligned lessons for diverse audiences onsite and online.
