Description
Install and configure office equipment and related software at customer sites, including printers, copiers, scanners, fax/multifunction devices, and other electronic office machines. Perform site surveys, deliver and assemble hardware, connect power, network, and phone lines, calibrate and test systems, and provide basic user orientation and documentation.
  • • Conduct pre-install site surveys to verify space, power, and network requirements.
  • • Coordinate delivery schedules and prepare equipment for transport.
  • • Uncrate equipment, remove shipping locks, and stage units for installation.
  • • Assemble and mount devices and accessories per specifications.
  • • Position equipment to meet workflow, safety, and accessibility guidelines.
  • • Connect power, network, USB, and phone/fax lines per code and vendor guidance.
  • • Run or terminate low-voltage cabling as needed for device connectivity.
  • • Install drivers, firmware, and management software.
  • • Configure network settings, queues, protocols, and security options.
  • • Calibrate print engines, feeders, and scanners for optimal performance.
  • • Load consumables and paper; set default trays, sizes, and media types.
  • • Perform test prints, scans, and faxes to confirm full functionality.
  • • Migrate settings or address books from replaced devices when required.
  • • Upgrade or add finishers, trays, memory, or card readers during install.
  • • Provide end-user orientation on basic operation and care.
  • • Document installation details, IPs, configurations, and asset tags.
  • • Obtain customer sign-off and update service and asset management systems.
  • • Remove packing materials and old units; coordinate recycling or returns.
  • • Maintain inventory of installation parts, cables, and consumables.
  • • Follow safety procedures and use lifting equipment for heavy devices.
  • • Troubleshoot basic connectivity or setup issues and escalate as needed.
  • • Read blueprints or floor plans to confirm placement and wiring paths.
  • • Complete installation checklists, time sheets, and expense reports.
  • • Train junior installers on standard procedures and best practices.
  • • Maintain and calibrate installation and test tools.
