Description
Evaluate license and permit applications and applicants for eligibility; administer and score required tests; verify identities and compliance with licensing laws; issue, suspend, or deny licenses; conduct field inspections as needed; and document decisions and enforcement actions.
  • • Warn applicants or licensees of infractions and related penalties.
  • • Review applications, identity documents, and records to determine eligibility.
  • • Advise applicants and licensees on licensing requirements and procedures.
  • • Prepare reports documenting evaluations, test results, recommendations, and decisions.
  • • Refer violations to appropriate agencies or boards.
  • • Interview applicants and consult with officials or specialists to verify information.
  • • Issue licenses and permits to qualified applicants.
  • • Collect and reconcile licensing fees.
  • • Administer and proctor oral, written, road, or skills tests.
  • • Conduct site visits to verify license display and compliance.
  • • Score exams and observe performance to assess competency.
  • • Prepare correspondence on decisions, denials, sanctions, and appeal processes.
  • • Identify and follow up on compliance issues requiring investigation.
  • • Stay current on licensing laws, standards, and best practices.
  • • Assist internal or external auditors with licensing compliance reviews.
  • • Ensure licensing procedures and regulatory requirements are documented, implemented, and communicated.
