Quality Control Technician (QC Tech)

Chemical Technicians
Description
Perform chemical and physical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to verify conformance to specifications and regulatory standards. Operate and maintain analytical instruments, prepare solutions, document and interpret results, and support scientists and engineers with quality investigations and process control in a safe, compliant laboratory.
  • • Compile, calculate, and interpret results; identify out-of-spec or out-of-trend data.
  • • Monitor product and raw material quality against specifications and control plans.
  • • Collect, prepare, and label samples for testing and retain programs.
  • • Set up and perform tests using chromatography, spectroscopy, titration, pH, and separation techniques.
  • • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, and gases per approved methods.
  • • Record data in LIMS or laboratory notebooks and issue certificates of analysis.
  • • Prepare standards, reagents, and solutions following standardized formulas.
  • • Calibrate, maintain, and clean laboratory instruments; perform system suitability checks.
  • • Maintain, verify, and update test methods, SOPs, and worksheets.
  • • Investigate nonconformances and test failures; support root cause and CAPA actions.
  • • Provide technical support to production, chemists, or engineers for process troubleshooting.
  • • Develop and execute sampling plans for incoming materials and in-process checks.
  • • Manage inventory of lab supplies, reagents, and reference standards; place orders.
  • • Participate in internal audits and support regulatory or customer inspections.
  • • Maintain a safe, compliant work environment; perform safety checks and handle waste properly.
  • • Train new staff on QC methods, equipment operation, and good documentation practices.
