Description
Perform chemical and physical laboratory tests to support scientists and engineers with qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, and gases for research and development, quality control, environmental compliance, and other applications of chemistry.
- • Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- • Set up and run chemical experiments and analyses using chromatography, spectroscopy, separations, and microscopy.
- • Perform qualitative and quantitative tests on solids, liquids, and gases.
- • Compile, interpret, and summarize test data.
- • Provide technical support to chemists and engineers.
- • Prepare standard and experimental chemical solutions and reagents.
- • Maintain, clean, calibrate, and sterilize laboratory instruments and equipment.
- • Document procedures and results in reports, graphs, and electronic lab notebooks or LIMS.
- • Order, receive, and inventory chemicals, consumables, and lab supplies.
- • Conduct sampling and analysis programs for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
- • Monitor production processes and coordinate with operations to resolve quality issues.
- • Operate and maintain bench- or pilot-scale equipment under guidance.
- • Assist in developing and optimizing chemical processes and test methods.
- • Assemble and modify experimental apparatus and test fixtures.
- • Promote laboratory safety; follow SOPs; participate in safety audits and trainings.
- • Train new staff on laboratory equipment operation and good laboratory practices.
