Description
Inspect aircraft, components, and maintenance activities to ensure airworthiness and compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer instructions, and company quality standards; review records, perform functional checks, document findings, and authorize return to service when appropriate.
- • Inspect work of aircraft mechanics performing maintenance, modification, and repair to verify compliance with manuals, regulations, and procedures.
- • Conduct ground runs and functional checks, monitoring gauges and instruments to detect malfunctions.
- • Examine access panels, fasteners, and doors for security and proper installation.
- • Inspect landing gear, tires, structures, engines, and systems for damage, corrosion, leaks, and wear.
- • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, discrepancy records, corrective-action verifications, and maintenance releases.
- • Inspect new, repaired, and modified parts and installations using checklists, precision tools, and test equipment to assess airworthiness.
- • Review maintenance records, logbooks, and task cards to confirm required checks, ADs, and overhauls were completed at prescribed intervals.
- • Recommend replacement, repair, or modification of components and equipment to correct deficiencies.
- • Recommend updates to maintenance procedures, quality standards, and training based on inspection findings and service data.
- • Investigate maintenance-related incidents, discrepancies, and complaints to determine root causes and required corrective actions.
- • Oversee post-maintenance operational checks and coordinate required test flights in accordance with approved data.
- • Approve or withhold return-to-service for aircraft, engines, and components following inspection and verification.
- • Audit tools, equipment calibration, parts control, and shop housekeeping to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
