Description
Plan and design interior environments—such as workplaces, retail, hospitality, and residences—integrating space planning, finishes, lighting, and building systems to meet client, code, and sustainability goals.
- • Prepare interior design documentation: space plans, finish and material specs, lighting, FF&E, cost estimates, and timelines.
- • Consult with clients to determine functional, brand, and spatial requirements of interiors.
- • Prepare contract documents, drawings, and specifications for interior construction and fit-outs.
- • Integrate structural, MEP, life-safety, and acoustic requirements into interior designs.
- • Administer interior construction contracts and review submittals and shop drawings.
- • Represent clients in obtaining bids and awarding interior construction or procurement contracts.
- • Prepare maintenance manuals, finish schedules, and closeout reports for interiors.

- • Direct and mentor technicians or drafters preparing interior drawings and specifications.
- • Meet with clients and stakeholders to present and refine interior design concepts and drawings.
- • Develop marketing materials, proposals, and presentations to win interior projects.
- • Develop detailed interior construction documents, elevations, sections, and specifications.
- • Conduct site observations and punch lists to monitor compliance with interior plans.
- • Coordinate with specialists, such as MEP engineers, lighting designers, IT/AV, wayfinding, or kitchen planners.
- • Plan furniture layouts and oversee FF&E selection, specifications, and procurement.
- • Survey existing interiors and building shells to determine suitability for renovation or fit-out.
- • Create 3D models, renderings, and virtual walkthroughs of interior spaces.
- • Manage code compliance reviews and permit submissions for interior scopes.
