Description
Advise clients on planning, procurement, and performance of buildings by providing technical assessments, code compliance guidance, cost and schedule advice, risk management, and sustainability strategies for new construction and existing facilities.
- • Consult with clients to define functional, spatial, and performance requirements.
- • Develop briefs, performance specifications, material recommendations, and scopes of work.
- • Prepare order-of-magnitude and detailed cost estimates and schedule forecasts.
- • Review drawings and specifications, providing markups and technical clarifications.
- • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate building systems.
- • Advise on building codes, accessibility, life safety, and permitting strategy.
- • Conduct feasibility studies, site due diligence, and risk assessments.
- • Inspect proposed building sites to evaluate suitability, constraints, and utilities.
- • Perform condition assessments of existing facilities and building envelopes.
- • Diagnose building defects, water intrusion, or envelope failures and recommend remediation.
- • Conduct energy assessments and calculate potential savings against baseline standards.
- • Recommend sustainable upgrades such as daylighting, green roofs, or rainwater harvesting.
- • Guide LEED or other green certification strategies and documentation.
- • Collect and analyze data on sustainability and operational efficiency.
- • Develop procurement strategies and prepare or review RFPs, bid packages, and contracts.
- • Represent clients during bidding, negotiations, and contractor selection.
- • Administer or advise on construction contracts, change orders, and pay applications.
- • Perform site observations to monitor quality, safety, and compliance with plans.
- • Coordinate and review deliverables from specialty consultants and testing agencies.
- • Advise on space planning, layout options, and user experience improvements.
- • Conduct lifecycle costing and value engineering analyses.
- • Prepare technical reports, maintenance plans, and O&M guidance.
- • Support commissioning, closeout, and handover processes.
- • Use 3D models or visualizations to communicate design intent and options.
- • Develop client presentations, proposals, and marketing materials.
- • Provide expert testimony or dispute resolution support when needed.
