Description
Plan and design buildings and other structures, balancing aesthetics, function, codes, sustainability, and client needs from concept through construction.
  • • Meet with clients to define program, budget, and spatial requirements.
  • • Develop schematic designs and building concepts.
  • • Prepare architectural drawings, models, and specifications using CAD/BIM.
  • • Produce code-compliant plans and permit documents.
  • • Coordinate structural, MEP, and other engineering inputs.
  • • Plan building layouts, circulation, and site relationships.
  • • Prepare project estimates, schedules, and material selections.
  • • Create 3D visualizations and presentations.
  • • Perform site analyses and feasibility studies.
  • • Conduct environmental and impact studies as required.
  • • Integrate sustainable design strategies; target LEED or equivalent.
  • • Analyze energy performance and potential savings.
  • • Design green upgrades for existing buildings, such as daylighting, green roofs, or rainwater systems.
  • • Administer and document bidding and negotiation.
  • • Prepare and manage construction contracts.
  • • Observe construction to verify conformance with plans and quality.
  • • Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals.
  • • Lead and mentor drafters, designers, and technicians.
  • • Coordinate with consultants and specialists, including interiors and acoustics.
  • • Represent clients in procurement and contractor selection.
  • • Develop final construction details and specifications.
  • • Prepare operating and maintenance manuals and project reports.
  • • Develop proposals and marketing materials to win new work.
  • • Inspect proposed building sites to assess conditions and suitability.
