Conduct research in the genetics, nutrition, reproduction, health, and management of dairy animals to improve milk yield, quality, welfare, and farm sustainability.
  • • Conduct research on dairy nutrition, breeding, and herd management to improve milk yield, components, and efficiency.
  • • Advise dairy producers on rations, reproduction programs, housing, milking routines, and technology adoption.
  • • Determine nutritional requirements of lactating, dry, and growing dairy animals and evaluate feeds, forages, and additives.
  • • Study effects of feeding strategies, housing, milking systems, and environmental conditions on milk quality, udder health, and production.
  • • Develop improved practices for feeding, cow comfort, housing, sanitation, mastitis prevention, and disease and parasite control.
  • • Design and manage selection and breeding programs to improve fertility, longevity, feed efficiency, and milk components.
  • • Analyze genetic parameters and heritability of dairy traits using genomic tools and statistical models.
  • • Implement crossbreeding or within-breed selection strategies to optimize health, productivity, and adaptability.
  • • Communicate research findings through publications, extension programs, and producer training.
