Description
Design and deliver instruction for adults and out-of-school youth in basic education, high school equivalency, English language acquisition, and workforce/life skills; assess needs, monitor progress, and support transitions to further education, training, or employment.
  • • Differentiate instruction and materials to meet diverse adult learners’ needs, abilities, goals, and interests.
  • • Evaluate learner work and progress and provide actionable feedback.
  • • Plan balanced lessons with instruction, demonstration, practice, and inquiry.
  • • Teach individuals and groups using lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and blended learning.
  • • Maintain accurate enrollment, attendance, assessment, and outcome records per policy.
  • • Prepare classrooms, technology, and materials for instruction.
  • • Set and communicate clear learning objectives and outcomes.
  • • Facilitate classes and workshops in ABE/ASE, ESL, digital, life, and workforce skills.

  • • Advise learners on academic challenges, supports, and individualized learning plans.
  • • Enforce program policies, attendance requirements, and codes of conduct.
  • • Review data and feedback to evaluate courses and recommend revisions.
  • • Collaborate with staff to plan instruction and coordinate schedules.
  • • Meet with counselors, case managers, and partners to discuss learner progress and needs.
  • • Engage in ongoing professional development and credentialing.
  • • Prepare lessons and maintain documentation of instructional planning.
  • • Produce required reports on enrollment, progress, and outcomes.
  • • Select and manage instructional resources, texts, and supplies.
  • • Co-develop curricula and contextualized learning projects with colleagues.
  • • Support outreach, community partnerships, and student recruitment efforts.
  • • Participate in staff meetings and committees.
  • • Organize and supervise experiential learning, field trips, and guest speakers.
  • • Connect learners with internships, workforce services, and employers.
  • • Schedule classes and learning sessions to optimize access and attendance.
  • • Ensure accessibility and arrange accommodations and assistive technologies.
  • • Train, coordinate, and support tutors and volunteers.
  • • Coordinate with community and government partners to expand training and service opportunities.
  • • Observe and mentor instructors or tutors as assigned.
