Description
Plan and manage end-to-end logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, to meet service, cost, safety, and compliance goals.
- • Supervise teams handling receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping.
- • Develop and enforce warehouse and transport safety and security programs.
- • Inspect facilities, fleets, and equipment; arrange maintenance, repairs, or replacements.
- • Plan and manage staff schedules, assignments, and performance.
- • Partner with sales, customer service, finance, and operations to integrate logistics with business processes.
- • Analyze modes, routes, and networks to optimize cost, service, and capacity.
- • Resolve transportation, systems, import/export, and customer delivery issues.
- • Create and maintain SOPs and contingency plans for receiving, handling, storage, and shipping.
- • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety rules, environmental standards, labor agreements, and regulations.
- • Model the financial impact of routing, mode, volume, and carrier changes.
- • Monitor and reconcile inventory levels and accuracy.

- • Prepare, manage, and forecast logistics budgets.
- • Oversee import/export processes for legal and customs compliance.
- • Recommend rate changes, tariffs, schedules, and service policies.
- • Hire, onboard, and develop warehouse and logistics supervisors and staff.
- • Advise sales and finance on transportation charges and surcharges.
- • Analyze spend and performance to drive cost reduction and service improvement plans.
- • Coordinate logistics with production, procurement, and records control.
- • Implement customer-specific logistics requirements and reporting.
- • Maintain metrics, reports, SOPs, customer logs, and training and safety records.
- • Deploy and manage TMS/WMS and related logistics technology.
- • Drive sustainability initiatives such as route reductions, capacity optimization, alternative modes, and idle reduction.
- • Evaluate carriers, 3PLs, and vendors for efficiency, safety, and environmental performance.
- • Negotiate carrier, 3PL, warehouse, and insurance rates and service levels.
- • Plan facility layout changes, equipment purchases, and capacity expansions.
- • Direct inbound and outbound logistics operations, quality, and safety performance.
- • Lead continuous improvement across logistics processes and systems.
- • Recommend and authorize logistics capital expenditures.
- • Review demand, invoices, and forecasts to plan peak periods and allocate resources.
