Plan, direct, and optimize distribution operations—receiving, warehousing, order fulfillment, and outbound transportation—while ensuring service, cost, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • • Supervise teams handling receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • • Develop and enforce warehouse safety and security programs.
  • • Inspect facilities, material handling equipment, and fleet assets; schedule maintenance, repairs, or replacements.
  • • Plan and manage staff schedules, workloads, and performance to meet operational standards.
  • • Partner with sales, customer service, order management, and finance to integrate distribution processes.
  • • Analyze distribution and transportation options to optimize cost and service.
  • • Resolve distribution and transportation issues, system problems, and customer escalations.
  • • Create and maintain SOPs and contingency plans for receiving, storage, picking, shipping, and returns.
  • • Monitor compliance with policies, SOPs, OSHA and DOT rules, environmental standards, and labor agreements.
  • • Evaluate financial impact of routing changes, mode shifts, volume mixes, and carrier selections.
  • • Track inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and stock levels to meet service targets.
  • • Define and manage KPIs for order accuracy, on-time shipping, dock-to-stock, and cost.
  • • Prepare, track, and control distribution center budgets.
  • • Oversee import/export shipments for regulatory compliance and documentation.
  • • Recommend rate changes, schedules, and process improvements to leadership.
  • • Recruit, onboard, and develop warehouse associates and supervisors.
  • • Provide sales and billing with accurate freight terms, surcharges, and accessorials.
  • • Analyze spend and productivity data to drive cost reductions and service improvements.
  • • Coordinate with production, procurement, and sales to align inbound supply and outbound demand.
  • • Implement customer-specific shipping requirements, labeling, EDI, and reporting.
  • • Maintain reports, metrics dashboards, SOPs, training logs, and safety records.
  • • Review freight bills, manifests, and customs documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • • Drive sustainability by optimizing routes, trailer utilization, and energy use.
  • • Evaluate 3PLs, carriers, and vendors for cost, service, safety, and ESG performance.
  • • Negotiate carrier contracts, 3PL services, and insurance terms.
  • • Plan facility layouts, slotting, racking, and equipment purchases to increase capacity.
  • • Direct inbound and outbound operations, safety performance, and quality management.
  • • Lead continuous improvement and WMS/TMS enhancements.
  • • Recommend and justify capital investments to improve throughput and service.
  • • Use forecasts, orders, and historical data to plan labor and allocate work for peaks.
