- • Review development plans to assess traffic impacts.
- • Present data, maps, and project information at public meetings and hearings.
- • Prepare technical and statistical traffic operations reports (accidents, safety, pedestrian volumes).
- • Evaluate transportation systems, traffic control devices, and lighting for modification or expansion needs.
- • Develop or support transportation-related software, models, or computational processes.
- • Prepare project budgets, schedules, and labor/material specifications.
- • Produce final layout drawings with design details and stress calculations.
- • Plan modifications to existing streets, highways, and interchanges to improve safety and flow.
- • Participate in bidding, negotiation, and contract administration.
- • Model transportation scenarios to evaluate development impacts and solutions.
- • Investigate traffic problems and recommend safety and operations improvements.
- • Test construction materials for compliance with specifications and standards.
- • Inspect completed projects for safety and environmental regulatory compliance.
- • Direct surveying, staking, and layout activities.
- • Develop cost estimates for transportation projects.
- • Coordinate with contractors, utilities, and agencies on plans, specifications, and schedules.
- • Check plans, design calculations, and estimates for accuracy and conformance to standards.
- • Analyze environmental impact documents for transportation projects.
- • Supervise maintenance and repair of transportation assets.
- • Design transportation facilities and components (roads, bridges, drainage, lighting).
- • Design drainage, erosion, and sediment control for transportation projects.
- • Incorporate sustainable materials and practices (porous pavement, bioretention).
- • Plan deconstruction of damaged or obsolete infrastructure to enable sustainable redevelopment.
