Prepare and support individual and small business tax returns through data collection, calculations, research, and client communication under supervision.
  • • Compute tax liabilities and refunds using tax software and tax tables.
  • • Prepare and e-file individual and small business returns under supervision.
  • • Apply eligible adjustments, deductions, and credits to minimize taxes and ensure compliance.
  • • Interview clients and collect source documents to confirm income and deductible expenses.
  • • Review financial statements and expense documentation to determine required forms and schedules.
  • • Provide clients basic guidance on document requirements and form completion.
  • • Research federal and state tax rules and document conclusions for atypical issues.
  • • Track billable time and assist in preparing fee estimates and invoices.
  • • Verify data entry, reconcile totals, and perform quality checks on returns.
  • • Address client questions and support basic year-round tax planning.
  • • Explain return positions and relevant tax laws in clear, client-friendly terms.
  • • Schedule and confirm client meetings and maintain engagement timelines.
