Description
Assist tax preparers by gathering client information, entering data, organizing records, and supporting the preparation and filing of individual and small business tax returns.
  • • Collect and organize client tax documents, income statements, and receipts.
  • • Enter taxpayer data into tax software and verify accuracy of entries.
  • • Perform basic calculations to reconcile totals and identify discrepancies.
  • • Assist in preparing individual and small business returns under supervision.
  • • Gather and document support for adjustments, deductions, and credits.
  • • Conduct client intake to obtain missing information on income and deductible expenses.
  • • Summarize financial records and flag items to determine required forms.
  • • Provide clients with basic instructions for completing organizers and questionnaires.
  • • Research routine tax questions using handbooks or bulletins and escalate complex issues.
  • • Draft invoices or calculate preparation fees based on return complexity and time records.
  • • Review data entry or forms prepared by others to check for arithmetic or procedural errors.
  • • Answer basic client questions, provide status updates, and schedule or confirm appointments.
