Description
Plan and deliver therapeutic recreation services for individuals with illnesses, disabilities, or injuries in healthcare and community settings. Assess needs, develop and implement treatment plans using recreation-based interventions to improve physical, cognitive, social, and emotional functioning, while documenting outcomes and promoting safety and inclusion.
- • Conduct individualized assessments of abilities, interests, and leisure barriers.
- • Develop person-centered treatment goals and plans with the care team.
- • Plan and facilitate individual and group therapeutic recreation sessions.
- • Explain techniques, adaptive equipment, and safety procedures.

- • Train, supervise, and mentor assistants, interns, and volunteers; assign duties.
- • Address participant concerns and behaviors; de-escalate and resolve complaints.
- • Facilitate leadership, peer support, and self-advocacy opportunities.

- • Deliver bedside or in-room interventions for clients with limited mobility.
