Description
Assist recreation staff in delivering programs and activities for diverse groups. Set up and lead basic activities, engage participants, enforce rules, maintain equipment and spaces, and perform routine recordkeeping and participant support under supervision.
  • • Enforce facility rules to maintain safety and discipline.
  • • Assist in organizing and leading activities such as arts, crafts, sports, games, and social events.
  • • Set up, distribute, and collect materials and equipment before and after activities.
  • • Greet participants, explain rules and schedules, and encourage involvement.
  • • Demonstrate basic techniques and safety procedures for activities and equipment.
  • • Monitor participants during activities and provide guidance and support.
  • • Administer basic first aid and alert emergency personnel when needed.
  • • Record attendance, participation, and incident reports.
  • • Help track inventory and request replenishment of supplies.
  • • Report facility or equipment issues and help maintain clean, orderly spaces.
  • • Assist with daily program operations and activity calendars as directed by supervisors.
  • • Support special events by preparing spaces, decorations, and entertainment materials.
  • • Escort participants on outings and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • • Conduct individual room visits or check-ins with residents to promote engagement.
  • • Encourage participants to suggest activities and build leadership skills.
  • • Assist in assessing participant interests and needs through observation and discussion.
  • • Document participant progress and behaviors according to program guidelines.
  • • Communicate participant concerns to supervisors and help resolve minor issues.
  • • Attend staff meetings and follow established policies and procedures.
  • • Coordinate with volunteers or instructors and relay information between staff and participants.
  • • Help manage sign-ups and schedule activity spaces as assigned.
  • • Provide basic customer service at the front desk, answering questions and directing visitors.
