Description
Reproduce technical drawings and construction documents as accurate plan prints from originals or digital files. Includes diazo/ammonia and digital large-format reproduction. May collate, fold, and finish plan sets.
- • Enter, store, and retrieve job specifications and files on reprographic systems.
- • Position, scale, and adjust drawings and text to produce accurate plan prints.
- • Maintain, calibrate, and clean large-format printers, copiers, scanners, and diazo developers; perform minor repairs.
- • Operate diazo blueprint machines and digital plan printers/plotters.
- • Inspect originals (vellum, mylar, bond) for defects before reproduction.
- • Run test prints and adjust exposure and density for clear lines and legible text.
- • Check unexposed diazo paper for damage or contamination before use.
- • Examine finished prints for flaws and conformity with originals; verify scale and line weights.
- • Select media and settings based on run length and application (bond, vellum, mylar; mono/sepia).
- • Set scanner/copier parameters for resolution, size, reduction/enlargement, and density.
- • Scale drawings to target sizes using proportion tools or software; confirm with scale bars.
- • Generate hard-copy or digital proofs for client review and approval.
- • Proofread titles, legends, and revision blocks; perform quality control checks.
- • Preflight CAD/PDF plot files for page size, layers, fonts, and linked references before printing.
- • Collate, fold, bind, and package plan sets; label and log deliveries.
