Description
Support the parts department by receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking spare and replacement parts; assist customers and technicians with part identification, orders, and returns in a repair shop or parts store.
- • Look up part numbers, availability, and pricing using catalogs or computer systems.
- • Identify required replacement parts from inspections, customer requests, or malfunction descriptions.
- • Receive and fulfill phone, counter, and online parts orders.
- • Process payments and verify credit authorizations.
- • Recommend substitutions or compatible alternatives when exact parts are unavailable.
- • Inspect returned parts, process exchanges or refunds, and update records.
- • Receive incoming shipments; verify quantities and condition; enter stock into inventory.
- • Label, bin, and store parts in the stockroom per established systems.
- • Provide basic product information on part usage, fitment, and features.
- • Set up and replenish merchandise displays.
- • Measure parts with precision tools to confirm specifications or possible machining.
- • Coordinate part repairs, warranty claims, or send-outs as directed.
