Description
Design and direct commercial display environments for retail windows, store interiors, and trade exhibitions, translating brand strategy into compelling visual concepts and overseeing their fabrication and installation.
  • • Develop display concepts, storyboards, and themes that drive customer engagement and sales.
  • • Prepare sketches, floor plans, 3D renderings, or models of proposed displays.
  • • Select materials, finishes, lighting, colors, props, and fixtures to meet brand, budget, and safety requirements.
  • • Create detailed specifications, technical drawings, and build packs for fabrication.
  • • Use design software to produce signage, graphics, and print-ready files.
  • • Coordinate with marketing, merchandising, and sales to define featured product, timing, and placement.
  • • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to source props, fixtures, and display elements.
  • • Manage budgets, timelines, and production schedules for display programs.
  • • Direct window and in-store display changeouts to align with promotions and inventory changes.
  • • Oversee installation of booths, exhibits, displays, carpets, and drapes per plans.
  • • Provide on-site art direction and quality control during installs and teardowns.
  • • Establish mannequin styling guidelines and approve looks for displays.
  • • Create price and descriptive signage standards and placement guides.
  • • Photograph and document displays for reference and performance reviews.
  • • Prototype or mock up display components; specify fabrication methods for paper, acrylic, wood, or fabric.
  • • Ensure compliance with brand standards, accessibility, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • • Consult with store managers, buyers, operations, and facilities on optimal display locations and maintenance.
  • • Train or guide visual merchandising staff on execution standards.
  • • Maintain and update prop, graphic, and fixture inventories and records.
  • • Plan and attend vendor meetings, trainings, or line reviews to gather launch information and ideas.
  • • Refresh and rotate displays based on sell-through data and seasonal strategies.
  • • Analyze display performance and recommend improvements.
  • • Develop packing, shipping, and installation instructions for multi-store rollouts.
  • • Maintain displays and props through touch-ups and repairs, or coordinate services.
