Description
Direct and coordinate teams that produce and schedule educational programming across broadcast and digital platforms, ensuring alignment with learning standards, audience needs, accessibility, and regulatory requirements.
  • • Plan and schedule educational programming and learning event coverage based on time availability, curriculum calendars, analytics, and community needs.
  • • Monitor and review educational content to ensure schedules are met, guidelines are followed, and quality and age-appropriateness standards are achieved.
  • • Direct and coordinate personnel engaged in educational content production, instructional design, and programming.
  • • Audit program logs for accuracy and compliance with FCC rules, E/I requirements, copyright, and internal policies, and resolve discrepancies.
  • • Establish work schedules and assign tasks to producers, editors, educators, and support staff.
  • • Coordinate activities among education, production, digital, outreach, and programming teams.
  • • Hire, onboard, and evaluate staff and contributors.
  • • Assess new and existing programs for pedagogical effectiveness and standards alignment using assessments, analytics, and audience feedback.
  • • Develop and manage budgets for educational content, outreach, and distribution, and monitor expenditures.
  • • Confer with directors, producers, instructional designers, and subject-matter experts on production issues, budgets, policies, and learning objectives.
  • • Select, acquire, and maintain educational programs and media assets, securing rights and clearances for broadcast, streaming, and classroom use.
  • • Monitor network, streaming, and LMS channels for advisories on schedules, content, special feeds, or changes.
  • • Develop promotions and outreach campaigns for educational series and specials targeting schools, families, and community partners.
  • • Prepare copy and edit scripts and media so content is classroom- and broadcast-ready, including captions and accessibility assets.
  • • Develop ideas for instructional series, standards-aligned features, and community learning initiatives.
  • • Plan and support grant applications and fundraising efforts for educational initiatives.
  • • Review and distribute accurate program guides, lesson plans, and schedules to schools, partners, and media outlets.
  • • Record or approve educational announcements, tutorials, and promotional spots as needed.
  • • Oversee operation and maintenance of studio, on-air, streaming, and classroom production equipment.
  • • Direct setup of remote learning or broadcast facilities and manage installation or cancellation of remote feeds.
  • • Cue hosts, educators, guests, and learners during live or recorded segments.
  • • Conduct interviews with educators, experts, and students for educational content.
  • • Serve as liaison between talent, educators, and directors, providing preparation materials and communicating needs to production teams.
