Description
Coordinate daily MRI operations and patient workflows, ensuring safety, image quality, and regulatory compliance. Oversee scheduling, protocol adherence, staffing, and equipment readiness while serving as liaison with radiologists, nursing, and vendors. Monitor patient safety and comfort, verify orders and screenings, manage contrast use and documentation, and perform or assist with scanning and positioning as needed to ensure accurate imaging and data capture.
- • Oversee placement of physiologic monitoring leads per protocol.
- • Coordinate and verify calibration and QC of MRI consoles and peripherals.
- • Conduct or validate MRI safety screening to identify contraindications.
- • Supervise connection of physiologic leads to monitoring or acquisition units.
- • Manage image archiving and backup workflows in PACS, RIS, or other storage.
- • Coordinate production or distribution of image prints and exports when required.
- • Ensure patients and families receive clear explanations of MRI procedures.
- • Oversee contrast administration and documentation within scope of practice.
- • Monitor image quality and protocol adherence; authorize or escalate repeats.
- • Provide scanner coverage and operate MRI systems when needed.
- • Ensure correct patient positioning and immobilization; assist with complex cases.
