Description
Review applications or transactions to assess risk and determine acceptance, pricing, and conditions in line with company policies and regulations.
  • • Decline or refer risks that exceed appetite or authority.
  • • Communicate with brokers, agents, applicants, and third parties to obtain information, quote terms, and explain underwriting decisions.
  • • Assess exposure to catastrophic, concentration, or correlation risks across the portfolio.
  • • Adjust terms, limits, pricing, and conditions for substandard risks using guidelines, models, and reference materials.
  • • Review internal records and systems to determine existing exposure on single accounts or related entities.
  • • Arrange risk transfer or syndication (e.g., reinsurance, co-participation) for high or unusual risks.
  • • Analyze applications and supporting documents to evaluate risk drivers such as financial strength, collateral or asset condition, compliance, and operational controls.
