Description
Provide salon and spa beauty services, including cutting, coloring, and styling hair; makeup application; facials and skincare; manicures and pedicures; and scalp treatments. May shampoo hair, remove unwanted hair, dress and maintain wigs, and recommend home-care products.
- • Keep workstations clean and sanitize tools and equipment according to state board standards.
- • Conduct client consultations to assess hair, skin, and nail needs and recommend services and styles.
- • Cut, trim, and shape hair based on client instructions, hair type, and facial features using scissors, clippers, and razors.
- • Bleach, dye, or tint hair using proper application techniques and safety protocols.
- • Shampoo, rinse, condition, and dry hair and scalp or hairpieces.
- • Apply setting, straightening, or waving solutions and use rollers, hot tools, and pressing methods to style hair.
- • Comb, brush, and spray hair or wigs to set and finish styles.
- • Provide facials and basic skincare treatments using approved products and techniques.
- • Shape eyebrows and remove facial hair using waxing, tweezing, threading, or depilatory creams.
- • Perform manicures and pedicures; clean, shape, and polish nails.
- • Massage and treat the scalp for hygienic and relaxation purposes.
- • Dress and maintain wigs and hairpieces; attach to model heads as needed.
- • Demonstrate, recommend, and sell hair, skin, and nail care products and cosmetics.
- • Schedule and confirm client appointments.
- • Update and maintain client service and history records.
- • Operate point-of-sale systems to process payments.
- • Order, display, and maintain inventory and supplies.
- • Develop and stay current on new styles, techniques, and trends.
- • Train or supervise assistants or junior stylists.
- • Identify signs of chronic or contagious scalp or skin conditions and refer clients to medical professionals.
