Description
Analyze, integrate, and visualize spatial data from GIS, remote sensing, GNSS, and LiDAR to support mapping, modeling, and decision-making.
- • Review GIS standards, data models, and tools, recommending changes or upgrades as needed.
- • Provide training and guidance on GIS methods, coordinate systems, and QA/QC procedures.
- • Plan and coordinate geospatial analysis projects, offering technical consultation.
- • Publish and distribute geospatial data, maps, and web services to agencies or the public.
- • Stay current with GIS, remote sensing, and spatial analytics through study and professional development.
- • Verify spatial and attribute accuracy of newly collected or received datasets.
- • Request or acquire additional data when gaps, errors, or unmet specifications are identified.
- • Prepare maps, dashboards, and technical reports summarizing methods and results.
- • Maintain geospatial databases and metadata, including coordinates and quality information.
- • Integrate and reconcile datasets (e.g., transportation, parcels, utilities) to ensure alignment with basemaps and projections.
- • Compute terrain models, contours, and surfaces from LiDAR, imagery, or elevation data.
- • Calculate spatial relationships, distances, and elevations; perform geoprocessing to derive features.
- • Analyze datasets to ensure adherence to project specifications and data standards.
- • Assess data quality and suitability for engineering, planning, or environmental projects.
- • Perform coordinate transformations, datum shifts, and projection management.
- • Conduct spatial analyses such as overlay, buffering, network, viewshed, and hotspot analysis.
