Description
Support geodetic surveying by collecting, processing, and validating geospatial measurements using GNSS, satellite observations, total stations, LIDAR, and related instruments; perform routine computations and data management to assist mapping, engineering, and construction projects.
- • Operate GNSS receivers, total stations, and LIDAR to collect control and topographic data.
- • Set, mark, and recover survey control points and benchmarks per project specifications.
- • Perform routine computations to derive horizontal and vertical coordinates and check closures.
- • Download, process, and format field data for QA/QC and integration into GIS/CAD.
- • Verify mathematical correctness of collected data and flag discrepancies.
- • Follow established survey standards, procedures, and safety protocols in field and office.
- • Maintain detailed field notes, sketches, metadata, and equipment calibration records.
- • Assist in adjusting control networks using leveling, traversing, triangulation, or trilateration under supervision.
- • Conduct instrument calibrations, tribrach and rod checks, and accurate antenna height measurements.
- • Request or schedule recollection when data gaps or errors are identified.
- • Maintain and update geodetic databases with coordinates, descriptions, and quality notes.
- • Prepare basic maps, figures, and technical summaries for project deliverables.
- • Support training of field crew members in equipment setup and data collection techniques.
- • Communicate progress, issues, and data quality concerns to the party chief or licensed surveyor.
- • Distribute compiled datasets and reports to project teams or agencies as directed.
- • Stay current with survey technology and software through reading, courses, and workshops.
