Description
Design, implement, and manage geodetic control networks and positioning solutions using GNSS, satellite observations, LiDAR, and related sensors; process and adjust data to deliver precise coordinates, elevations, and reference frames for engineering, mapping, and construction projects.
  • • Stay current with advances in geodesy, GNSS, LiDAR, software, and standards.
  • • Evaluate and update geodetic standards, control frameworks, and instrumentation, recommending upgrades.
  • • Provide technical training on observation methods, QA checks, and coordinate control procedures.
  • • Plan and oversee geodetic engineering and field teams, providing technical leadership.
  • • Publish and deliver geodetic datasets, models, and maps to stakeholders and agencies.
  • • Validate the mathematical integrity and uncertainty of survey observations and processed results.
  • • Specify re-collection or supplemental observations when QA/QC or design tolerances are not met.
  • • Prepare technical designs, adjustment reports, and project progress documentation.
  • • Design and maintain geodetic databases with coordinates, metadata, and QA/QC records.
  • • Perform least-squares adjustments and retracements to integrate new and legacy surveys with geodetic grids.
  • • Design and compute control networks using GNSS, leveling, triangulation, trilateration, and traverses.
  • • Determine precise 3D positions, elevations, and associated uncertainties.
  • • Analyze and model survey data to verify compliance with project specifications and land survey standards.
  • • Assess control network quality and error sources to determine needs for additional measurements.
  • • Establish datums, transformations, and control frameworks for boundary, alignment, and construction layouts.
  • • Plan and execute geodetic surveys and remote sensing campaigns (e.g., GNSS, LiDAR) to map positions and surface features.
