Directly supervise and coordinate housekeeping staff to ensure rooms and public areas meet cleanliness standards, schedules are met, and supplies and equipment are maintained in hotels, hospitals, and similar facilities.
  • • Lead infection prevention practices and compliance with cleaning protocols.
  • • Inspect rooms and public areas to verify cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • • Create and adjust housekeeping schedules and room assignments.
  • • Assist with cleaning tasks during peak periods or as needed.
  • • Resolve service complaints and address equipment issues promptly.
  • • Coordinate with front desk, nursing, maintenance, and laundry for timely service.
  • • Assess facility conditions to scope deep cleans and needed repairs.
  • • Specify appropriate cleaning agents and methods for surfaces and linens.
  • • Train staff on SOPs, safety, and equipment operation.
  • • Distribute linens, amenities, and equipment to staff.
  • • Forecast staffing and supply needs based on occupancy or census.
  • • Manage inventory of linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies.
  • • Evaluate employee performance and provide coaching or recommend actions.
  • • Enforce chemical handling, PPE, and safety compliance.
  • • Implement and enforce housekeeping standards, checklists, and inspection criteria.
  • • Report and track maintenance and repair requests to completion.
  • • Order supplies, linens, and equipment within budget and par levels.
  • • Recommend process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • • Maintain records for schedules, timekeeping, training, and expenses.
  • • Recruit, interview, and onboard new housekeeping staff.
  • • Supervise in-house laundry and linen room operations.
  • • Notify front desk or clinical units when rooms are cleaned and ready.
  • • Assist with budgeting, cost control, and vendor relationships.
  • • Inspect and arrange maintenance for vacuums, carts, and other housekeeping equipment.
