Plan, direct, and coordinate credit policy, underwriting, collections, and portfolio risk for a branch, office, or credit department, ensuring sound lending, compliance, and profitability.
  • • Build and maintain relationships with borrowers and resolve credit-related issues.
  • • Lead credit department staff and daily underwriting and collections operations.
  • • Recruit, coach, and evaluate credit and collections personnel.
  • • Prepare credit risk, delinquency, and portfolio performance reports for management.
  • • Develop budgets and forecasts for the credit function, including loss provisions.
  • • Design and deliver training on credit policies, systems, and regulatory compliance.
  • • Oversee analysis and processing of credit applications and borrower financials.
  • • Approve or decline credit requests within authority and coordinate escalations.
  • • Monitor credit line usage, exposure, and receivables to optimize cash flow.
  • • Prepare required regulatory and compliance reports on lending and credit quality.
  • • Analyze borrower and industry data to assess risk and set credit terms.
  • • Brief senior management, auditors, and regulators on credit policies and portfolio risk.
  • • Evaluate and improve credit scoring models, underwriting standards, and collection procedures.
  • • Partner with sales to structure deals and set prudent credit limits and terms.
  • • Review aging and collection reports to manage delinquencies and recoveries.
  • • Establish and enforce controls over collateral, credit files, and loan documentation.
  • • Monitor economic and market trends to adjust credit strategies and risk appetite.
