Edit digital video to assemble compelling stories for web, social, and broadcast. Collaborate with producers and directors to organize footage, sync and mix audio, apply color and effects, integrate graphics, and deliver final exports to specification.
  • • Study scripts, briefs, and shot lists to understand objectives and requirements.
  • • Ingest, organize, and tag footage, audio, and graphics; maintain project media.
  • • Assemble rough and fine cuts according to scripts or direction.
  • • Select the best takes and angles to create smooth, cohesive sequences.
  • • Cut shot sequences at precise points to ensure seamless continuity and pacing.
  • • Mark in/out points and add edit markers to the timeline.
  • • Sync and mix dialogue, music, and effects; clean noise and balance levels.
  • • Determine and apply appropriate visual effects, transitions, and music.
  • • Design or integrate motion graphics, titles, and lower thirds.
  • • Perform color correction and basic grading to match and enhance shots.
  • • Verify timecodes, frame rates, codecs, and aspect ratios; manage proxies.
  • • Insert b-roll, overlays, captions, and screen graphics as needed.
  • • Review edits sequence by sequence before final assembly.
  • • Collaborate with producers and directors on editing approaches to maximize impact.
  • • Implement notes and revisions; version and track changes.
  • • Export, QC, and deliver masters and variants to platform specifications.
  • • Source and license stock footage, music, and sound effects; ensure rights compliance.
  • • Record simple voiceovers or obtain needed sounds from libraries.
  • • Coordinate with audio, color, and VFX specialists to finalize shots.
  • • Supervise assistants and manage handoffs to post vendors when needed.
  • • Conduct edit reviews with stakeholders and refine cuts accordingly.
  • • Document and improve post-production workflows, presets, and templates.
