Description
Finish and master picture for final delivery by conforming locked edits to high-resolution media, integrating VFX, color, titles, and audio, ensuring technical compliance and quality, and creating platform-specific masters in collaboration with producers, colorists, mixers, and directors.
  • • Conform locked edits from AAF/EDL/XML and relink to high-resolution media.
  • • Validate timecode, reel IDs, clip names, and frame rates against turnovers.
  • • Recreate offline effects, transitions, speed changes, and reframes in the online timeline.
  • • Integrate final VFX shots and manage shot version updates.
  • • Apply LUTs or color space transforms and ensure broadcast-legal luma/chroma levels.
  • • Coordinate with colorists, mixers, and producers on finishing schedules and notes.
  • • Lay back final mixes and stems; confirm sync, channel mapping, and loudness compliance.
  • • Assemble titles, lower thirds, bugs, and end cards; verify spelling and placement within safe areas.
  • • Import, spot, and QC captions/subtitles; burn in or attach as required.
  • • Perform technical QC to identify flash frames, dropouts, dead pixels, banding, and compression artifacts.
  • • Correct minor picture issues such as reframes, stabilization, mattes, paint fixes, and deinterlacing.
  • • Ensure aspect ratio, resolution, and framing meet delivery and platform specs.
  • • Prepare leaders, slates, countdowns, bars and tone, and 2-pop as specified.
  • • Encode and master deliverables (e.g., ProRes, DNxHR, XDCAM, IMF, DCP, AS-11); verify metadata.
  • • Create mezzanine files and transcodes for review, promo, and localization.
  • • Generate and track QC reports, change logs, and delivery checklists.
  • • Update conforms for late picture changes; manage turnovers and version control.
  • • Compare online to offline references to ensure content and timing match.
  • • Calibrate monitoring and use scopes to verify gamut, levels, and color consistency.
  • • Manage project organization, media naming, and archival and backup of masters.
  • • Configure and operate finishing systems (Avid Symphony, Resolve, Premiere, Flame).
  • • Securely deliver files and confirm receipt via transfer portals or MAM systems.
