Description
Plan, deliver, and evaluate Family and Consumer Sciences education for youth and adults, focusing on nutrition, food safety, financial literacy, parenting, housing, and consumer decision-making. Develop curricula, demonstrations, and outreach that apply research-based practices to strengthen individual and family well-being. Partner with schools, community organizations, and health and social services to address local needs.
- • Conduct classes, workshops, and online modules on nutrition, meal planning, and food safety.
- • Teach financial literacy, budgeting, credit management, and consumer rights.
- • Provide guidance on parenting, child development, and family relationships.
- • Deliver demonstrations in cooking, food preservation, and safe home practices.
- • Develop, adapt, and evaluate FACS curricula and lesson plans aligned to standards.
- • Create and distribute educational materials such as fact sheets, guides, and videos.
- • Assess community needs using surveys, data analysis, and stakeholder input.
- • Track participation, outcomes, and impacts; maintain program records and reports.
- • Collaborate with schools, 4-H, FCCLA, and community partners to plan and deliver programs.
- • Offer one-on-one consultations on home management, nutrition, and resource management.
- • Train volunteers and peer educators; supervise youth activities and service-learning projects.
- • Coordinate outreach events, health fairs, and family resource programs.
- • Stay current with research and policy on consumer issues, food safety, and family health.
- • Seek grants, sponsorships, and partnerships to expand programming.
