Description
Plan, deliver, and evaluate research-based 4-H youth development programs that build skills in agriculture, STEM, healthy living, and leadership. Instruct and advise youth and families, demonstrate hands-on procedures, and translate university research into practical projects. Recruit and train volunteers, coordinate clubs, camps, and fairs, and develop community outreach that supports positive youth development and safe program practices.
  • • Recruit, train, and support 4-H volunteers and club leaders.
  • • Conduct clubs, workshops, and camps on agriculture, STEM, healthy living, and leadership.
  • • Advise 4-H members on project skills such as animal care, gardening, recordkeeping, and budgeting.
  • • Provide research-based resources and answers to youth, families, and volunteers.
  • • Develop and distribute curricula, lesson plans, and educational materials.
  • • Assess community youth needs and set program priorities.
  • • Maintain enrollment, volunteer, and program records; document impacts and outcomes.
  • • Visit clubs, schools, and project sites to provide guidance and oversight.
  • • Organize and support 4-H events, competitions, and fair exhibits.
  • • Partner with schools, agencies, and community groups to expand outreach.
  • • Lead hands-on demonstrations and experiential learning activities.
  • • Evaluate programs, analyze data, and prepare reports and grants.
  • • Advocate for positive youth development and represent 4-H to stakeholders.
  • • Provide direct assistance with enrollment, risk management, and fair/project logistics.
  • • Set participation goals and monitor progress toward program targets.
