Description
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in environmental science and lead research programs. Includes faculty focused on teaching as well as those balancing teaching, scholarship, and service.
- • Supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate research, teaching, and internship work.
- • Lead original research in environmental science and publish in peer-reviewed journals, books, or digital media.
- • Stay current in the field through literature review, collaboration, and professional conferences.
- • Evaluate and grade coursework, laboratory work, assignments, and papers.
- • Write competitive grant proposals to secure external research funding.
- • Oversee students’ laboratory and fieldwork, ensuring safety and data quality.
- • Prepare course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and learning resources.
- • Design, assess, and revise curricula, course content, and instructional methods.
- • Facilitate engaging classroom discussions and active learning.

- • Perform departmental and university service, including leadership roles when needed.
- • Support student recruitment, orientation, and placement activities.
- • Provide consulting or expert advice to government, nonprofits, or industry.
- • Serve on departmental, college, and university committees and faculty governance bodies.
- • Compile and update bibliographies and reading lists for courses and independent study.
