Teach undergraduate and graduate environmental science courses, develop an independent and externally funded research program, mentor students, and contribute to departmental and university service as an early-career faculty member.
  • • Supervise undergraduate and graduate teaching, internship, and research activities.
  • • Conduct original research in environmental science and publish in peer-reviewed outlets.
  • • Stay current in the field through literature, seminars, and professional conferences.
  • • Evaluate and grade coursework, laboratory work, assignments, and papers.
  • • Write competitive grant proposals to secure external research funding.
  • • Supervise laboratory and fieldwork, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • • Develop syllabi, assignments, labs, and other course materials.
  • • Contribute to planning, assessment, and revision of courses and curricula.
  • • Lead and moderate engaging classroom discussions.
  • • Create, administer, and grade examinations or oversee graders.
  • • Advise students on academic planning, research pathways, and careers.
  • • Deliver lectures on topics such as hazardous waste management, industrial safety, environmental toxicology, and related areas.
  • • Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and required academic records.
  • • Select and procure textbooks, software, and laboratory supplies.
  • • Hold regular office hours to advise and assist students.
  • • Collaborate with colleagues on teaching, research, and interdisciplinary initiatives.
  • • Perform limited administrative and service duties appropriate to rank.
  • • Support student recruitment, orientation, and placement efforts.
  • • Provide outreach or consulting to government, nonprofits, or industry when appropriate.
  • • Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
  • • Curate bibliographies and reading lists for courses and independent study.
  • • Participate in campus and community engagement events.
  • • Advise and mentor student organizations and clubs.
  • • Review manuscripts for journals and proposals for funding agencies.
  • • Write letters of recommendation for students and mentees.
