Description
Assemble and modify mechanical or electromechanical products and subassemblies, following blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards, using hand/power tools and test equipment.
- • Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to meet specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements.
- • Assemble parts and subassemblies; position, align, and fasten components using hand and power tools, fixtures, and hardware.
- • Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and function.
- • Connect cables, tubing, fasteners, and wiring per drawings and work instructions.
- • Attach labels, tags, and nameplates; mark identification on parts.
- • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and job travelers to determine components and assembly sequences.
- • Disassemble units to replace parts, perform rework, or prepare for packaging and shipping.
- • Measure parts and assemblies to verify tolerances using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision tools.
- • Clean, deburr, and lubricate parts and subassemblies as required.
- • Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spot-face holes using drill presses or handheld tools.
- • File, sand, lap, and buff parts to achieve proper fit and finish.
- • Install insulation, gaskets, or cushioning materials as specified.
- • Operate or tend automated assembly equipment, fixtures, and robotics.
- • Use hoists or small cranes to move, position, or stage large components safely.
