Description
Assemble and modify household and commercial appliances—such as refrigerators, washers, dryers, ovens, and dishwashers—by fitting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components, following blueprints and work orders, and performing functional testing and quality checks.
  • • Inspect, test, and adjust completed appliances to meet specifications and order requirements.
  • • Assemble cabinets, frames, and subassemblies using hand and power tools.
  • • Position, align, and secure motors, pumps, compressors, drums, and control modules for proper fit.
  • • Connect wiring harnesses, hoses, and tubing according to schematics and work instructions.
  • • Attach serial plates, labels, and safety markings to units.
  • • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials to determine parts and assembly sequence.
  • • Disassemble appliances to replace defective parts or prepare units for rework or shipping.
  • • Measure parts, clearances, and electrical values using calipers, gauges, and multimeters.
  • • Clean and lubricate hinges, bearings, and moving parts as specified.
  • • Drill, tap, and ream holes in panels or brackets using drill presses and portable drills.
  • • Deburr, file, and buff edges and trim to achieve proper fit and finish.
  • • Install insulation, sound damping, and gaskets in cabinets and doors.
  • • Operate and monitor automated assembly stations, conveyors, and robotic equipment.
  • • Use hoists or small cranes to lift and position heavy cabinets and subassemblies.
