Description
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility and industrial electrical systems, equipment, and controls to maximize uptime. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, minor installations and upgrades, and ensure work complies with codes, safety standards, and site procedures.
  • • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical distribution, lighting, and motor control systems.
  • • Diagnose faults in circuits, equipment, or controls using meters, test instruments, and schematics.
  • • Install, terminate, and label wiring and cables in panels, MCCs, and junction boxes.
  • • Connect and commission motors, VFDs, starters, transformers, and control devices.
  • • Inspect systems to identify hazards, wear, or nonconformance and recommend repairs.
  • • Test circuits for voltage, continuity, insulation resistance, and load using multimeters and megohmmeters.
  • • Follow lockout/tagout and NFPA 70E practices to ensure electrical safety.
  • • Read and update blueprints, one-lines, and wiring diagrams for accuracy.
  • • Program, troubleshoot, or replace basic PLC I/O, sensors, and relays as required.
  • • Use thermal imaging, ammeters, and data loggers to detect abnormal conditions.
  • • Maintain CMMS records, complete work orders, and track labor and materials.
  • • Estimate labor and materials for repairs or minor projects and assist with budgeting.
  • • Direct or train technicians or helpers on maintenance procedures and safe work practices.
  • • Repair or replace breakers, switches, receptacles, fixtures, and damaged conductors.
  • • Fabricate or modify conduit, brackets, or enclosures to fit site conditions.
  • • Install and repair conduit, cable trays, and raceways; pull and dress conductors.
  • • Work from ladders, lifts, or scaffolds and in tight spaces to access equipment.
  • • Coordinate electrical lockouts and planned shutdowns with operations to minimize downtime.
  • • Maintain and test backup power systems, generators, and UPS equipment as assigned.
  • • Manage spare parts and order materials to sustain maintenance activities.
  • • Provide emergency response and restore power safely during outages or equipment failures.
  • • Maintain current electrician’s license or certifications as required by regulations.
