Plan, coordinate, and edit content for print and digital publications; review proposals and drafts to ensure accuracy, clarity, style compliance, and on-time delivery.
  • • Prepare, rewrite, and edit copy to improve clarity, tone, and flow; coach contributors.
  • • Proofread copy to correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and syntax errors.
  • • Allocate space for text, photos, and graphics based on layout guidelines and story priority.
  • • Plan publication content in line with style, editorial policy, and publishing requirements.
  • • Fact-check names, dates, and statistics using reliable sources.
  • • Review and approve page or digital proofs prior to release.
  • • Develop story and content ideas with strong audience appeal.
  • • Coordinate production with design, layout, and prepress to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • • Collaborate with editors and managers on story placement and emphasis.
  • • Assign and brief writers or reporters on topics, angles, and deadlines.
  • • Evaluate and edit manuscripts or submissions; confer with authors on content, style, and organization.
  • • Monitor news wires, press releases, and other sources to inform coverage.
  • • Partner with artists, typesetters, marketing, and production to resolve issues and advance projects.
  • • Supervise and coordinate the work of contributors and junior editors.
  • • Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection of manuscripts to publishers or senior editors.
  • • Select news items from wire services based on significance and interest.
  • • Recruit and onboard freelance writers; coordinate contracts, rates, and payments with appropriate teams.
  • • Uphold and apply editorial policies, voice, and standards across content.
  • • Secure permissions and rights for quoted or reproduced material.
  • • Create or review indexes, headlines, decks, captions, and metadata.
  • • Write articles, editorials, or newsletters as needed.
