Description
Operate computer-aided manufacturing systems to fabricate and repair dental prostheses and appliances from digital designs, ensuring precise fit and quality.
- • Review prescriptions, CAD files, and digital impressions to plan CAM strategy and materials.
- • Nest cases and generate toolpaths for milling or printing crowns, bridges, dentures, splints, and trays.
- • Set up, calibrate, and operate mills, 3D printers, and scanners per job specifications.
- • Select and load material discs, blocks, or resins and maintain lot traceability.
- • Simulate and verify NC code; adjust feeds, speeds, and layer settings as needed.
- • Inspect fit, margins, and occlusion using digital articulators, microscopes, and gauges.
- • Remove supports, deburr, sandblast, and polish CAM parts to finish standards.
- • Produce working models from intraoral scan data via 3D printing or milling.
- • Program and run sintering, crystallization, and burnout cycles in ovens and furnaces.
- • CAM-produce wax or resin patterns and try-ins for casting or clinical evaluation.
- • Apply green-state staining, infiltration, or surface treatments before sintering when required.
- • Perform minor repairs and rework with light-cure resins, remilling, or reprinting as needed.
- • Fabricate custom trays, bite blocks, and surgical guides using CAM processes.
- • Manufacture digital denture bases and teeth; assemble or bond components per protocol.
- • Maintain and troubleshoot CAM equipment; replace tools, calibrate axes, and update software.
- • Manage tool libraries, offsets, and maintenance logs; track tool wear and consumables.
- • Train and support staff on CAM workflows, quality standards, and lab safety procedures.
