Description
Operate digital audio/video recording systems to capture, annotate, store, retrieve, and secure the official record of court proceedings; maintain detailed logs and support transcript production and playback requests.
  • • Set up, test, and operate multi-channel digital recording equipment in courtrooms.
  • • Monitor audio quality and adjust microphones and settings to ensure clear capture.
  • • Create real-time log notes with timestamps, speaker identification, and case details.
  • • Ask speakers to repeat or clarify inaudible statements under the judge’s direction.
  • • Start, pause, and resume recordings in accordance with court procedures.
  • • Respond during sessions to requests to play back portions of the record.
  • • Securely save, label, and back up recordings and logs to court-approved storage.
  • • Retrieve and provide certified copies of recordings or transcripts to authorized parties.
  • • Coordinate transcription of recordings and verify transcript accuracy against audio.
  • • Submit recordings, logs, and required documentation to the clerk’s office.
  • • Annotate and reference exhibits in the log and coordinate with court staff on handling.
  • • Maintain chain of custody, metadata, and retention schedules for recordings.
  • • Troubleshoot and report equipment or software issues and arrange maintenance.
  • • Follow court rules, confidentiality requirements, and statutory standards for records.
