Description
Prepare, assemble, and cook pizzas, calzones, and related items in a pizzeria or restaurant. Mix and hand-stretch dough, prep sauces and toppings, operate ovens, and finish orders for dine-in, takeout, or delivery. May order supplies, keep records and inventory, price and plan menu items, and maintain sanitation and food safety.
- • Turn and rotate pizzas in the oven to ensure even cooking.
- • Season and cook pizzas and sides according to recipes and shop standards.
- • Check doneness by visual cues, temperature, and tasting sauces or toppings as needed.
- • Weigh, measure, and mix dough, sauces, and toppings according to recipes.
- • Portion dough balls, arrange toppings, finish with garnishes, and cut and box pizzas for service.
- • Assist teammates and work multiple stations during rush periods.
- • Bake pizzas; roast or par-cook vegetables and proteins for toppings.
- • Wash, peel, slice, and prep vegetables and herbs for toppings.
- • Forecast dough and topping needs; requisition supplies and pull product from storage.
- • Slice and portion cured meats and cooked proteins for toppings and sandwiches.
- • Coordinate and direct pizza line and prep staff during service.
- • Collaborate on pizza menus and specials, considering costs and events.
- • Trim and portion raw proteins for toppings as required.
- • Prepare pizza dough, focaccia, garlic knots, and related baked items.
- • Prepare salads, sauces, and appetizers such as wings or breadsticks.
- • Maintain prep logs, production records, and inventory counts.
- • Help plan and price pizzas, combos, and seasonal items.
- • Clean and sanitize prep areas, peels, cutters, mixers, and ovens per food safety standards.
- • Set and monitor oven temperatures; hold and store foods at safe temperatures.
- • Check ingredient quality and rotate stock using FIFO to ensure freshness.
