Description
Lead Islamic worship and perform religious functions for the Muslim community, including Jumu'ah and other congregational prayers. Provide spiritual guidance, education, and pastoral care in accordance with the Qur'an and Sunnah.
  • • Lead daily salah and foster spiritual growth.
  • • Recite and teach the Qur'an and Hadith.
  • • Prepare and deliver Friday khutbahs and other sermons.
  • • Organize and lead Jumu'ah, Eid, Taraweeh, and other congregational prayers.
  • • Teach classes on aqidah, fiqh, seerah, and Islamic ethics.
  • • Guide new Muslims through shahada and foundational practices.
  • • Provide pastoral counseling for spiritual, marital, family, and personal issues.
  • • Visit and support the sick, elderly, and incarcerated.
  • • Mentor youth and train volunteers and community leaders.
  • • Officiate nikah and lead janazah rites.
  • • Study, interpret, and advise on Islamic rulings and traditions.
  • • Prepare congregants for religious obligations and ceremonies (prayer, fasting, zakat, Hajj/Umrah).
  • • Provide guidance and programming during Ramadan, including Taraweeh and i'tikaf.
  • • Respond to crises and requests for urgent assistance.
  • • Lead outreach and da'wah to strengthen community participation.
  • • Collaborate with the mosque board/shura on administrative and financial matters.
  • • Oversee mosque operations, facilities, supplies, and staff or volunteers.
  • • Refer individuals to social services, counselors, or medical professionals when appropriate.
  • • Support and participate in fundraising for programs and facilities.
  • • Plan and lead religious education programs, halaqas, and weekend school.
  • • Engage in interfaith, civic, and community activities connected to mosque programs.
