Source, purchase, and contract Christmas trees from growers for harvest and resale to wholesalers and retail lots. Negotiate agreements, plan and oversee cutting and handling, coordinate logistics and distribution, and manage quality, compliance, and inventories to meet holiday demand.
  • • Purchase or contract Christmas trees from growers for harvest and resale to wholesalers, retailers, or seasonal lots.
  • • Negotiate contracts with tree farms covering species, grades, prices, volumes, harvest windows, and delivery terms.
  • • Plan and oversee harvest operations, including cutting, baling or netting, tagging, and loading.
  • • Arrange transportation, routing, permits, and staging or storage to meet holiday delivery windows.
  • • Review customer orders and forecasts to determine required species, sizes, grades, and quantities.
  • • Inspect stands and harvested trees to assess quality, assign grades, and identify pests or disease.
  • • Maintain records of contracts, inventories, cut tickets, shipments, and regulatory documents; report as required.
  • • Coordinate and supervise seasonal crews and subcontractors for cutting, handling, safety, and recordkeeping.
  • • Plan distribution to retail lots, coordinate replenishment schedules, and resolve shortages or returns.
  • • Ensure compliance with quarantine, phytosanitary, and transportation regulations; arrange inspections and certificates.
  • • Procure and manage supplies and equipment such as balers, netting, tags, pallets, and PPE; arrange financing as needed.
  • • Estimate stand yields and future availability by surveying stocking density, species mix, and growth conditions; advise growers on practices to meet market specifications.
