Description
Provide routine accounting support to maintain accurate financial records. Compute, classify, and record financial transactions; prepare and reconcile documents; and assist with accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reporting. Verify the accuracy of figures, postings, and entries in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper coding.
  • • Enter and update transactions in accounting software and spreadsheets.
  • • Comply with federal, state, and company accounting policies and procedures.
  • • Process accounts payable: match purchase orders, code invoices, obtain approvals, and schedule payments.
  • • Process accounts receivable: generate invoices, apply payments, and follow up on delinquencies.
  • • Classify, record, and summarize financial data using journals, ledgers, and ERP systems.
  • • Prepare and reconcile bank deposits; receive, record, and remit cash, checks, and electronic payments.
  • • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • • Prepare trial balances and assist with month-end and year-end close.
  • • Compile routine financial, accounting, and statistical reports such as cash receipts, A/P, A/R, and profit and loss.
  • • Calculate and prepare checks and electronic disbursements for utilities, taxes, and other payments.
  • • Prepare and process payroll data and maintain related records.
  • • Maintain vendor and customer records; set up new accounts and update master data.
  • • Access and provide account information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • • Perform cost, interest, discount, and balance calculations as needed.
  • • Code and file documents; maintain organized digital and paper records.
  • • Assist with budget data compilation and basic variance tracking.
  • • Complete and submit basic tax filings and regulatory forms as directed.
  • • Prepare purchase orders and employee expense reports; audit for policy compliance.
  • • Support internal and external audits by gathering documentation and explaining account activity.
  • • Maintain inventory or fixed asset records as assigned.
  • • Transfer journal details to the general ledger and verify postings.
  • • Compare system reports to source documents to ensure accuracy.
  • • Monitor status of customer and loan accounts to ensure payments are current.
  • • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and data quality.
