Description
Lead day-to-day operations of a biomass power plant, directing staff and resources to deliver safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective power generation.
  • • Supervise operations and maintenance staff for safe, reliable biomass power production.
  • • Oversee and assist with testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • • Monitor plant status via DCS, gauges, and alarms; respond to abnormalities.
  • • Adjust or direct equipment controls to meet power output and quality targets.
  • • Direct or perform shutdowns and restarts for emergencies and maintenance.
  • • Ensure accurate logging of operational data and shift reports.
  • • Review logs and performance data to verify production and safety.
  • • Manage parts, consumables, and biomass fuel inventories; coordinate procurement.
  • • Plan and schedule fuel deliveries, ash handling, outages, and preventive maintenance.
  • • Operate or oversee generators, boilers, turbines/engines, and auxiliary systems.
  • • Inspect combustion/gasification, fuel handling, and emissions systems to maximize capacity and minimize costs.
  • • Analyze production and demand trends to optimize dispatch and efficiency.
  • • Prepare operational, maintenance, and compliance reports for leadership and regulators.
  • • Ensure compliance with permits, environmental rules, and performance specifications.
  • • Prepare and manage the plant budget and cost controls.
  • • Maintain and operate plant communications systems and radio protocols.
  • • Conduct routine field inspections of plant areas, stations, and substations.
  • • Lead safety programs, training, audits, and incident response.
  • • Supervise or coordinate testing of protective relays, switchgear, and distribution equipment.
